Comments I have literally never seen this quality of craftsmanship on dA in this realm...I'm not even a huge fan of MLP *but* your work gets a have because it's just so incredibly well made and well done!!!

-- Insanity becomes Reality  whoa! these are awesome! ive been curious about making my own plushies ( i have made a few over the years but nothing this good) do you have any tips or tutorials about making your own patterns?

My tip would be to start with something you really enjoy, something that inspires you. And then to get the hang of how forms are built, start making things with paper. Paper craft is GREAT at teaching you how to turn flat surfaces into 3D objects. oooo i will def. be interested in reading said article. making plushies is something ive wanted to do since i was a kid and never quite got the hang of it.
ok awesome, ill look around for some simpler designs from stuff i like and then slowly challenge myself mayhaps. when you say papercraft, do you mean perhaps the kind of craft that people make out of videogame characters? i see so many different types of papercraft so i figured may as well ask HAHA -- PCHOOOOOOOOO ^^ the articles will be part of a club i'm starting to collect really wonderful, original and unique plushes around dA as sources of inspiration for crafters of any level. And then articles open for discussion on how to create these types of plushes. I'll make an announcement when I get it up and going with some good info.
And about papercraft - Yeah! Those types of papercraft work well. I've seen those alot. But also you can just invent your own. Try building a creature from cutting and taping pieces of paper together, in whatever way feels natural to you. Maybe a cylinder would form a leg, or a sphere ends up being part of a head. Stuff like that oooooo what club is this? it sounds like an awesome idea and id love to take a look and get some ideas about how to get started! the articles im really looking forward to hehe i love reading that kinda thing especially when it can be put to use : B
ok! i thought that was what you were talking about. ahaha ive tried those before and they are difficult; how would you suggest making my own papercraft? ive seen how you can stylize plushies in your gallery to look really cute and i want to make my own style but not really sure if i should start off making my own craft or locating game craft and starting with that?? -- PCHOOOOOOOOO It's one i've started, but it hasn't got much in it yet

Working on your own papercraft, I'd just say you know, start experimenting with making shapes with paper, even if its really simple at first Like putting together different shapes to try and come up with the form you want.As far as nailing down your own style, that comes from years of working on your art and really just comes from your personality and how you do your craft. So I'd suggest just starting from your own craft and ideas, rather than going to fanart (which can really kill originality and creative thinking).  I can't look threw the entire gallery...I will damage myself from utter love.
I wish I was an eccentric billionaire even MORE now so I could buy EVERYTHING here and have a wing in my mansion dedicated to it....or a wizard, cuz I threatening it a lot SO HELP ME IF I WAS A WIZARD. *shakes fist angrily* -- No I'm....doesn't. |
